Highest and Lowest Rated Books on my TBR

Even though this year the majority of books that I’ve read have been those that are rather well-known, I love reading books without knowing people’s opinions on them. Of course that always leads to a very wide variety of ratings but I have found that I’ve rather enjoyed some low rated books.

After seeing BooksandLala’s video where she read the lowest rated books on her physical TBR I was considering making a video like that as well, but then I also saw Anushka’s blog post and decided to follow her idea of making a list of 5 highest rated books on my TBR and 5 lowest. I think maybe in November when my physical TBR clears up I’ll give the lowest ones a go!!

Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass #3) by Sarah J. Maas

20613470A review in which I am not going to be an organized human being who writes relatively structured reviews because 1. everyone has read this book 2. i am UPSET

Let me start off by saying that I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in the series. The first felt a little like a generic YA fantasy but things really picked up for me in Crown of Midnight. I loved how much we got to see of Celaena, Nehemia is the love of my life, and I will want Celaena and Chaol to be together till the day I die.

But… let’s talk about this book….

The ABC Book Challenge – “A”

Hiya so I was looking for something to post on Sundays and I know a lot of people have been doing this challenge for a while so I decided to try this out too!! I love any chance to talk about books that I’ve read and loved, and books that I am definitely super excited to get to (also lowkey I love how this lets me just organize my life even more god bless lists)

Probably going to start doing this weekly, my only concern is somehow narrowing down my tbr to only mention a couple of books for each letter

3 Bookish Things Book Tag

So I know that I don’t know a lot of people on here but I love doing tags so much. I came across this one on Book Lover Kate’s blog (you can see her post here) and it looks really fun so I decided to just go right ahead!!

3 Once Read and Loved Authors

Donna Tartt- Absolute fave. The Secret History is my favourite book ever and that’s all I’ve needed to read to know I adore her writing and would be willing to read literally anything she writes I don’t care if it’s books or her shopping lists.

Leah on the Offbeat (Creekwood #2) by Becky Albertalli

Leah Burke—girl-band drummer, master of deadpan, and Simon Spier’s best friend from the award-winning Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda—takes center stage in this novel of first love and senior-year angst.

When it comes to drumming, Leah Burke is usually on beat—but real life isn’t always so rhythmic. An anomaly in her friend group, she’s the only child of a young, single mom, and her life is decidedly less privileged. She loves to draw but is too self-conscious to show it. And even though her mom knows she’s bisexual, she hasn’t mustered the courage to tell her friends—not even her openly gay BFF, Simon.

So Leah really doesn’t know what to do when her rock-solid friend group starts to fracture in unexpected ways. With prom and college on the horizon, tensions are running high. It’s hard for Leah to strike the right note while the people she loves are fighting—especially when she realizes she might love one of them more than she ever intended.

As summer is almost over and school is about to start (aka the amount of time I have to read is going to drastically decline) I decided to go through all the books I’ve read so far this year and just remember ~the greats~
just so you know I can think back to them when times are rough

This reading year has been phenomenal for me!! My original goal was 50 books but right now I’m at 77 so I ended up increasing it to 100. Not all of the books were the best but I’ve definitely found some new favourites that I absolutely adore.

These aren’t in any specific order that’s too much pressure
