So I know it’s not Sunday but let’s be real I haven’t done the best job at keeping that up weekly so does the day of the week even really matter? One thing that this tag really makes me want to do is read books starting with letters I haven’t done this challenge for yet so I have more to talk about for the memorable books section but I definitely can’t read fast enough to catch up for that.
MEMORABLE BOOKS THAT START WITH “D”
I love the whole entire series so so much and The Dream Thieves was just such a good addition to Ronan’s story just everything was so good. Daughter of Smoke and Bone is the first series I remember absolutely adoring when I properly got into YA fantasy back in high school. The writing is just so atmospheric and beautiful and I need to reread this soon. Death of a Salesman also sticks out because it was the first play I read in high school English (aside from Shakespeare) and it fully rekindled my love of theatre it’s just such a well-crafted work. And of course Down Among the Sticks and Bones was so amazing and fully ruined me, just a great series as a whole.
BOOKS STARTING WITH “D” ON MY TBR
I love Seanan McGuire’s writing so I’m fully ready to pick up anything else she writes and the plot of Discount Armageddon sounds so good. I feel like The Devourers is one of those fantasy books that everyone mentions in their underrated books lists so I definitely have to pick it up soon. My only concern is that it’s a standalone and fairly short so what if I fully fall in love with the story and the world and need more?? Honestly I have no excuse for why I haven’t read Deathless yet. I finally found it for really cheap so I should pick it up soon because Russian folklore but has it happened yet? The Death and Life of Zebulon Finch is one of my booktube friend’s (The Bookish Babbler) favourite books and I definitely trust her opinion so this is a book super high on my TBR.
Every time I do this challenge I come out of it super impressed with myself for cutting down my read-asap TBR to 4 books per letter because man my goodreads TBR is nearing 1000 books and that’s not okay.
Have you read any of the books I mentioned and what did you think of them? What are some memorable books that you could recommend? Let me know!!
