3 Bookish Things Book Tag

So I know that I don’t know a lot of people on here but I love doing tags so much. I came across this one on Book Lover Kate’s blog (you can see her post here) and it looks really fun so I decided to just go right ahead!!

3 Once Read and Loved Authors

Donna Tartt- Absolute fave. The Secret History is my favourite book ever and that’s all I’ve needed to read to know I adore her writing and would be willing to read literally anything she writes I don’t care if it’s books or her shopping lists.

Brandon Sanderson– Read only the first book of Mistborn so far but it’s one of my favourite books so far this year!!  I adore his characters, and the world building and plot are to die for.

Laini Taylor– So far I’ve only read the first book in the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series but I loved that book so much. I can’t remember a whole lot about it, mostly just that I loved the characters and the visual descriptions were breathtaking but hey that’s definitely enough for me to want to pick up her other books.

3 Weirdest Things Used As a Bookmark

My sister’s hand – she was sleeping, it was there, she didn’t notice it’s okay

Another book – I usually have two books with me so I don’t know I think it’s perfectly logical to use one as a bookmark

Phone charger – this is also super convenient especially when you’re commuting, it’s a wire it works AND the book actually closes

but also honestly whatever is near me will probably be used as a bookmark

3 Titles I’ve Watched But Haven’t Read

13496     162085     6320534

Game of Thrones – I’ve seen up to the end of season three and kind of never got back into it. The story is interesting enough but I don’t think I’m ever going to be able to read the books because it would probably take me literal forever to read them. Also the fact that the books come out so rarely I wouldn’t be able to handle the waiting.

Pretty Little Liars – My guilty pleasure show, I completely binge watched it. I’m still kind of considering reading the books just because I love Spencer a whole lot but also probably half of that reason is Troian Bellisario.

Under the Dome – Loved the tv series (as much as I watched of it) but the book is so massive. This kind of also applies to other Stephen King books because man, they take a long time to read.

3 Characters You Love

Kelsier from Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson

Gansey from The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater

Inej from Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

3 Series Binged

17259690     16034235     23437156

All for the Game by Nora Sakavic – oh my god I literally read these three books all at once it was just so much tension and stress and I was so fully involved with the characters. I feel like it’s completely impossible to read just one just because of the sheer level of pain it causes you

Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas- currently in the middle of this one but oh man I’ve owned the first book for almost 5 years and only picked it up just now for some reason? And of course I became SJM and have been flying through the books because I am hopelessly addicted

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo – ah duologies, the only series I’m really good at finishing right away. That sense of completion is just too easy to achieve. But this story was still so amazing and you honestly fully fall in love with the characters.

3 Unpopular Bookish Opinions

I prefer paperbacks – I actually don’t know how unpopular this is but I love paperbacks so much more. They’re easier to read and I think a good paperback looks really nice and crisp on the shelf.

I like slow-paced books – I don’t really need a fully fast-paced plot, actually not that much even needs to happen I just need that good ol’ character development and some very nice descriptive writing and I’ll be happy.

I’m not the biggest fan of sprayed edges – okay I like it if it’s a colour I like (black or red aka the six of crows duology) but I don’t know I like that the pages are just white I don’t need some aggressively colourful on my shelf.

3 Popular Bookish Opinions

Enemies to lovers trope – I freaking love it it’s going to be the death of me. Especially when it’s some sort of academic rival situation.

Brandon Sanderson is a fantasy genius – does this need explaining?

Physical books are the best – I know they’re not always the most convenient but the feeling of sitting down with an actual book can’t be beat.

3 Book Goals for the Year

Read more books that I own – Why do I buy so many books but also continuously take out a lot from the library instead of reading my own?? Who knows but my unread piles just keep growing and growing

Finish up series – I keep on starting so many and literally never picking up the next book. I think I’m doing pretty well so far though? At least I’ve read half of the throne of glass series in the last week

Read books from authors I’ve loved books from – I’ve started so many new authors this year but I feel like I would have a lot more success if I read books by authors I’ve loved in the past!! I definitely need to read The Goldfinch and The Little Friend by Donna Tartt

(I mean I guess my goodreads challenge of 100 books too but I think that’s pretty attainable)

Omg sprayed edges! I total didn’t think of that one, but I just think they look a tad tacky!
I’m also glad you use whatever is nearby as a bookmark too, its just convenient!

I love this tag and I agree with pretty much all your answers (and also I love doing/reading tags too, I’m trying to take a break because I’ve done waaaay too many 😂) ❤️

This is such a fun tag! It was love at first read with Donna Tartt, Brandon Sanderson and Laini Taylor for me too. I also read DoSaB and The Secret History first, but my first Sanderson was Warbreaker, which I think is so underrated. I totally recommend that one after reading the Mistborn trilogy.

I loved reading your answers to the Tag 🙂 I have to agree I prefer paperbacks all the way over hardcovers! Apart from also being cheaper, I actually like them in general – they are definitely not as heavy as some hardcovers. Sprayed edges have also never really amazed me that much😄
